What’s up: Extra features & Extra control on iOS

Hey you! Yeah you there with the iPhone and iPad. We’ve got news for you, buddy! Level-up your iOS device to unlock Prey’s features.

Apple’s Push Notification Service

By default, Apple doesn’t allow third-party apps to use certain remote management tools, like our Lock & Wipe on iOS. Well… Not anymore! (How-to guide at the end!)

We’ve implemented Apple’s MDM certificate process into our platform, and you can now request the necessary certificate to allow the use of these features on your iPhones, iPads, and iPods. PS: the Wipe feature remains as a PRO-only feature.

It might sound like Vogon bureaucracy, but it’s actually super simple.

Certificate-whaa?

In a nutshell, Apple requires a trust certificate. Something that proves that you are indeed the administrator of those iOS devices and not an evil mastermind who wants to wipe their data.

How, when, where?

Anytime, at your Online Panel, following the 3-step process. You can access the flow through your Prey Account. Log in, hit the settings tab, and you will find the Apple Push Notification Service menu inside.

REMEMBER to follow the enrollment instructions after you complete three steps! This will connect your devices to the certificate and configure them to activate the extra tools.

CHECK OUT THE HOW-TO!
