8 Months After:
8 months ago I was shopping at a place called Nauty Blue in Ecoplaza’s mall, at Mosquera Cundinamarca. After exiting the shop, I realized I didn’t have my phone with me, so I went back and asked them if they knew anything about it.
They denied having it, but one of their salesman was missing; I even tried calling several times but it seems it was already out of the shop, because it didn’t ring at all. I did what I had to do, called the provider and blocked the line and immediately logged into Prey.
However, after a few hours the thieves turned my phone off and I knew nothing about it anymore, so I kind of gave up and thought it was lost.
How did I get it back? Well 8 months after I received a call at the emergency number that I added to my phone. It was a lady whose daughter had found my phone, thrown in the park, about 4 months after it was robbed.
The poor lady took almost three months to contact me because the emergency number was my mom, and she usually doesn’t pick up!
I managed to meet with the lady, who I’m super thankful to, at a nearby mall. She gave me my phone back and I gave her a small reward as a token of thanks! At this current moment, I have my phone in my own hands.
The phone took some captures and pictures of the ones who took it, and of a boy at a mobile repair shop, who probably tried to unlock it. What’s more, it had a picture of one of the salesmen at the store where I lost it inittially!
I reported the IMEI, plus it had a lock and Prey’s Anti-Theft security, so they couldn’t unlock it at all. They only took the SIM card and an SD I had with some pictures in it.
This is my story! There are some things that can’t be explained, like how I got my phone back after so long and in the same state as it was the day it was robbed!
Thanks Prey.
