As we near the end of the year, here at Prey, we're at full capacity to launch new updates for our customers. So, without further ado, let's dive into what's new and why it can streamline your device security and management operations.

Location History gets a new look

We're excited to introduce an enhanced Location History feature, designed for a modern, user-friendly experience. Our redesign prioritizes a sleek interface, easy-to-access chronological lists for tracking device locations, visual cues on the calendar for data-rich days, and the convenience of receiving CSV files via email for on-the-go access, ensuring a seamless experience for our users.

So, what's new?

Our redesigned Location History section, available in each device's view, brings an enhanced UX-UI experience, and here's what you can look forward to:

  • Calendar Notifications: We now notify you when there are days with recorded locations by highlighting them in bold blue on the calendar.
  • Chronological Locations: Understanding how your device moved has never been easier! We present your locations in chronological order, providing a clear picture of its journey.
  • CSV Delivery by Email: Say goodbye to direct downloads! Now, we send your location history CSV file directly to your email, making it even more convenient, especially when you're on the go.

Use cases

Location history data plays a pivotal role in enhancing device security in a variety of scenarios. Whether you're managing a fleet of devices, detecting errors, or uncovering potentially suspicious locations, having access to this information is critical for maintaining the integrity and security of your devices.

Here's why it's essential for these use cases:

  • Fleet Tracking: Review location patterns within your fleet.
  • Error Detection: Identify and investigate any device misuse.
  • Suspicious Locations: Uncover potentially suspicious locations.
